LOCAL NOTICE TO MARINERS

The US Coast Guard's Local Notice to Mariners are issued to alert boaters on channel depths, naval operations and new charts and provide information affecting navigational safety.

Boaters using the Intracoastal Waterway and small harbors need this information to keep current on navigational changes typically not available through other sources.  They also need it to keep their charts and navigational publications current.

The Local Notice to Mariners is available free of charge from the appropriate Coast Guard District Commander. Vessels operating in ports and waterways in several districts need to get the Local Notice to Mariners from each separate district.  They are also available online in a pdf format direct from the US Coast Guard: http://www.navcen.uscg.gov/?pageName=lnmMain
